Today has been perfect, as far as food goes. I've been 'spot on' Dukan. However, I cannot speak for the demons in my head craving chocolate. I don't understand them. I mean, I've eaten enough - so what's the deal???
Meal Log:
Breakfast: Scoop of Protein, 1.5tbsp oat bran, yogurt
Lunch: Turkey and some Ground beef, with cucumbers
Snack: yogurt
Dinner (not yet): eggs and turkey
Calories<1400 no doubt!
Exercise: non-existent as of yet, but will hit the gym shortly! Promise. Going to try and do a run!
Later on;
Did 5Km run at the gym. Just over 30 minutes. Not bad, not bad:)
Why are you counting calories? They have absolutely no significance in DD. You can be eating 4k of them as long as they are mainly protein. I hope you are doing it just casually and not taking it too seriously. Calories in calories out does not work in DD. Also note that in this phase (attack/cruise) you are meant to take it easy with exercise. Don't stress over it your body will hit back it does not have excessive amounts of energy right now.
ReplyDeleteBe strong! The cravings will stop once sugar is out of your body. As long as it's there you will crave it.
Keep it up :D
You know I'm not as strict on Dukan because of my exercise, but if you are eating less than 1400 calories AND running, you are undereating. I strongly counsel doing your PP days on low-exercise days, because you are more likely to burn out. I know it's hard to sit and do nothing -- light yoga or stretching? A walk on the treadmill?
ReplyDeleteHi Luddi! I'm a long time calorie counter - and difficult to get out of doing it. I've always 'journaled' my food at fitday.com, so the habit is just still there. I'm by no means restricting. I know Dukan says I can eat however much I want. I don't believe it completely, but I do agree that if you are eating primarily protein, you can eat a lot. I also know that protein fills you up more, so that when you are on a low carb diet, you tend to reduce calories because you aren't as hungry. I'd be curious to know calories most Dukaners eat - because I bet it wouldn't be that much! So, I'm not limiting myself or taking it too seriously. It just calms my neurotic mind to know that I'm not going overboard.
ReplyDeleteAs for exercise, that is what is most important to me. So, I can't take it too easy during cruise phase! I will compensate by increasing squash and beets and such!
Hi Veerukka! I ate until full (still craving, but full - I think it's the Easter eggs lingering in my system). I did have 2 more eggs last night, which probably put it up to 1600 or so. I tend to eat more when I do weights, and less when I do cardio. Speaking of which, do you do any cardio on it's own? I know that P90X and such incorporate it into it....
Walking mostly. I don't have a gym membership, so I hit the pavements of NY. Depending on the weather I'll sometimes walk 50+ blocks. Not recently though, but I'll start doing that again a few times a week.
